I have just read the ghastly news in the FT (http://www.ft.com/cms/s/1/28face8a-b22e-11dd-bbc9-0000779fd18c.html) that you can have someone’s ashes turned into an artificial diamond once they have been cremated.
What on earth will they think of next?

I should have added this.
Since everyone wants to call our dead friends and relatives their "loved ones" these days, why not read that brilliant skit on the American way of death, "The Loved Ones" by Evelyn Waugh?
It's an old book but still a riot: I read it again fairly recently having first read it 25 years or so ago.
Forest Lawns would make those diamonds if it knew how!!
