FA Cup Final 2024

I haven't watched an English FA Cup final since 1987 or so: living away from the UK has done that and not always having an interest in the finalists helped to ensure I didn't watch the matches if I was in a position to do so.

Well, for some reason, I decided I would watch this year's final because I could. I haven't followed the competition in all that time, either, beyond Burnley FC's involvement in it! So, I had no idea who the combatants would be until the middle of yesterday.

I watched the match and, against all of my dreams and desires, Manchester United won. Grr!

Still, their first goal was astounding and their second goal was very well worked. City's goal was fine but, overall, City's performance was poor.

As an aside, I read the general EPL football news quite randomly these days but I would have sworn that the Man U manager, M Ten Hag, had been sacked about six times this season and as this match day began, he was threatened, by the newspapers anyway, with the sack, whether Man U won or lost.

As I write this, I have no idea whether Ten Hag is in employment or out of it!
