Jitter Charts

Introduction

Jitter Charts ... Swarm Charts. I watched a couple of videos a couple of weeks ago to see what swarm charts were all about and that led me back to Jitter Charts. If you program in R, you probably already know that Jitter charts are a doddle there: in Excel, not so much. I watched another video last night that was all about jitter charts ... far too much detail, far too many complications.

I am offering you the fruits of my labour by sharing the file I created on Jitter Charts in Excel. I have included links to the first two videos I used as the basis of my charts: the first video is lengthy and needs concentration. The second video is much less intense and more direct: jitter charts two and three came from there.

I added the use of the FILTER() function to the third jitter chart, along with random numbers and it works quite well ... more or less. This is all you need to do to create your FILTER() function: =FILTER(A6:C105,A6:A105=H5)

The chart on the left, below, is a swarm chart and the two on the right are jitter charts, the bottom jitter chart is the one controlled by the FILTER() function.
