New CheckBoxes in Excel

Introduction

You might have seen the new CheckBox function on your Insert ribbon in Excel. You might even have seen demonstrations of them. Well, here's another one: a really practical example in which I have created a database of foods that I might eat, together with their calorific values. I then use checkboxes to highlight the foods I have eaten in a day and from there I can see how many calories per item, based on the grammes consumed AND I have linked that to the GROUPBY() function that summarises my total daily calory intake by food category. Cell E4 is programmed to turn red to warn me when I have eaten too much or too little.

This file is infinitely customisable to suite your own needs, including applying it to databases other than for food items!
